KITTITAS COUNTY FORUM ON LAW AND ORDER

Panel to Feature Candidates, Current County Sherriff, and County Commissioners (BOCC)

Ellensburg, Washington:

The purpose of this forum is to review current procedures, regulations, and laws regarding public safety during a period of civil unrest and increasing crime in Kittitas County. The panel will feature the Kittitas County elected officials (and current candidates) who initiate, interpret, and enforce them.

The forum will be held online (ZOOM) and at Kittitas County Republican Party Headquarters (411 N. Pine, Ellensburg – Limited Seating) October 6, 2020, 6:30 – 8:00 pm.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Steve DuPont, Executive Director of Government Relations at CWU.

The civil unrest, riots, and destruction in American cities and suburbs have resulted in raising concern by local citizens for the safety of their community, their loved ones, and themselves. This concern includes the potential of civic disturbance and riot damage in Kittitas County as some media, elected officials, and national organizations call for police reform and defunding.

The Central Washington Sentinel (CWS) mission is to bring attention to issues not thoroughly covered by other media in Central Washington and has sponsored this forum solely to discuss Law and Order in Kittitas County. It is being produced as a community resource and not designed to produce a debate or to be a platform for individual agendas.

The Central Washington Sentinel has released all forum questions to all panel participants by eMail on Friday, September 25. at 9:00 am PDT
