10/19/20 | Ellensburg | Letter to the editor | Central Washington Sentinel~
Dear Editor~
I am a citizen and business owner in Ellensburg, WA; our community desperately needs your help to expose the issues going on in our cowboy, rodeo, art/music town. Our town and somewhat our county has been inundated by aggressive, opportunistic BLM/Antifa movement organizers and their agenda is to alter the integrity of this community, from deep within.
The obvious issues (what we had as our eye-openers) began in early June with business owners being targeted, harassed, threatened, and relentlessly doxed on social media (and in-person), for not supporting the political movement of BLM/Antifa. Our community has always been remarkably diverse, very accepting of all races, religions, skin colors, and the like. As a University/ Rodeo community, we’ve always had residents, students, and visitors from all walks of life, all lifestyles, so we haven’t known racism, divisiveness; yet this extreme movement, promoted by CWU, our liberal City Council and a few other local entities, have painted us in a dark ominous light, attacked our core values and aggressively tried to silence our replies.
We will NOT stand for this! The physical and verbal assaults, the harassment on a regular weekly basis, the tremendous psychological toll, the financial impact, and the degradation of our community standards will not be tolerated. The more we take a stand though, the more harassment ensues…and so we are reaching out.
We have stories that must be told! Our local news paper is extreme left and so the true elements of the events and issues are not being reported or being spun in a non-truthful manner. Our citizens and business owners are being attacked, they are becoming fearful of any in-town interactions and this has to be exposed in order for it to be stopped.
Please, please contact us right away to publish these stories, listen to the founding members of this community, give us a voice so that we may save our well known, well established, historically diverse community that the majority of us know, love, work for, live in, raise our children in and grow/thrive in. We need to be heard, yet we need your help. We have created groups, networks, that meet both privately, publicly, and some secretively. We know that safety is in numbers and media would allow us to speak up, speak out, and take a stand in the most productive way.
Thank you !!!
This letter represents the sentiments of conservatives in this county.
